Film

The UK Film industry is continuously changing and developing to the creative media background. There is six different components when it comes to the film industry, these are:

·         Development


·         Production


·         Facilities


·         Distribution


·         Exhibition


·         Export


Most of these production companies are often set up for a precise production and then close down when the production is complete.


There are around 400 registered companies in the film industry; this varies depending on the number of productions that are being worked on. Out of all the companies there is only around 44% of them are production, 13% are distribution and 44% are exhibition companies.


In 2004 the film industry contributed £3.1 billion; in 2006 they contributed £4.3 billion to the UK economy.


In 2007 the UK production activity was £747 million, this makes it the fourth highest production year on record, and some of the productions that are made in the UK are:


Inward Productions:


·         Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince


·         Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian


Indigenous Productions:


·         Brideshead Revisited


·         How To Lose Friends


·         Alienate People


There are around 27,800 people who work within the film industry.
